The project
The Nero lamps began as one lamp for the Meridia bar. Guests kept asking where to buy it.
Each base is turned from a single block of Portoro marble, and each shade is spun brass, left unlacquered so it darkens with the hands that use it.
Forty of each size are made each year in a family workshop in Vicenza.
How it was made
Every decision came with a drawing and a price, agreed before the stone was cut.
