The project
The brief was one sentence: a house that would still feel quiet in August. We turned the plan away from the harbour and toward the open sea, and pushed the rooms half a storey into the slope so the wind passes over them.
The walls are board-marked concrete poured in island sand, so they carry the same colour as the path that leads to them. Inside, the floors are honed Naxos marble, left matte so bare feet never slip after a swim.
One window does all the work. It is eleven metres long, set at sitting height, and it frames the horizon from the kitchen table to the bath.

How it was made
Every decision came with a drawing and a price, agreed before the stone was cut.
