The handle is the handshake
You touch a door handle more often than any wall, floor or window in your house. It is the first thing a building says to your hand, and it is usually chosen from a catalogue in the last week of a project.
I draw every one. Not because catalogues are bad, but because the weight, temperature and shape of a handle should agree with the door it opens and the room behind it.
How it works in practice
We make three prototypes in wood, try them on site, then cast the chosen one in brass. It adds two weeks to a project and costs less than most light fittings.
